1. Antimalarial effect
Experiments have proved that the neutral part extracted by ether of Artemisia annua and its dilute alcohol extract have significant antimalarial effects on mouse malaria, monkey malaria and human malaria. In vivo experiments showed that artemisinin had killing effect on the intracellular phase of Plasmodium falciparum, but had no effect on the extracellular phase and prophase of Plasmodium falciparum. It can quickly inhibit the maturation of Plasmodium. In vitro experiments showed that artemisinin could significantly inhibit the growth of clones of Plasmodium falciparum and had direct killing effect.
2. Antibacterial and antiviral effects
